Indianapolis Consumer Advocacy Project and Brochure
In October 2014, Indiana Legal Services, Inc. (ILS), along with the Heartland Pro Bono Council, Inc. (Heartland) and the John H. Boner Community Center (Center), introduced a new and unique collaboration called the Consumer Advocacy Project (Project). The Project was made possible by a Cy Pres award from the Marion County Circuit Court with left-over funds from a class action lawsuit handled by Cohen & Malad, LLP against an on-line pay day loan company.
The Project is for Indianapolis Near Eastside residents who use the Center's financial education and coaching services to improve their financial situation and/or build assets but who happen to be facing some barriers that may require legal assistance.
